A bit more about Great Houswewives of Art:
Mrs Renoir cleans the ovenThe book was big! It appeared on bestseller lists in The Times (London) and The Washington Post, alongside books by Peter Carey and Salman Rushdie. 'Great Houswewives' danced and dusted their way into German calendars, Belgian postcard books, San Francisco T-shirts, Hong Kong magazine extracts, a Norwegian translation and exhibitions from New York to Darwin. There are still some limited edition reproductions available today e.g. images such as 'Mrs Renoir cleans the oven' (right), Mrs Seurat adjusts the TV set and Mrs van Gogh makes the bed.

A bit more about Once Upon a Picture:
Once Upon a Picture links art, heart, education and imagination. It was shortlisted for a Children's Book Council Award for illustration and an Award for Excellence in Educational Publishing. The teachers' notes on the Allen and Unwin website (also for parents, teachers, aunties and uncles) contain practical, inspiring ideas for engaging kids with art.
